The Literary Expansion: Ghosts of Sicily Set for 2026 Release
Mark Harmon is proving that his storytelling prowess extends far beyond the television screen. His latest historical non-fiction collaboration with retired NCIS Special Agent Leon Carroll Jr., titled Ghosts of Sicily: The True Story of the Naval Intelligence Agents Who Courted the Mob, is officially slated for release on April 14, 2026.

This third installment in the “Ghosts” series (following Honolulu and Panama) dives into the murky waters of World War II espionage. The book details the “Operation Underworld” alliance, where the U.S. Office of Naval Intelligence collaborated with notorious figures like Lucky Luciano to secure New York’s waterfronts and facilitate the Allied invasion of Italy. Harmon has described the project as a personal mission to preserve the “burnt records” of naval history, ensuring the ingenuity of early intelligence officers is never forgotten.
