Movie star Kevin Costner once brought Sheboygan a Hollywood premiere

‘I’ve been around the world and found no place more beautiful than Sheboygan — with its sense of small town, yet global experience,’ Kevin Costner said at the August 2003 event.

SHEBOYGAN – More than 20 years ago, the Sheboygan Press reported Academy Award-winning director and actor Kevin Costner would arrive in August 2003 for an advance screening of his film “Open Range.”The event was touted as a benefit to the then recently restored Stefanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts and the John Michael Kohler Arts Center.Tickets for the event were priced at up to $250 for the entire slate of events for the special showing of Costner’s newest film in 2003. Regular tickets to see the film were set at $100.
