The 38-Year “Sacred Wall” Marriage

​Mark Harmon and Pam Dawber have been married since 1987, a miracle by Hollywood standards. The “longer news” here is their “Sacred Wall” policy. Harmon recently revealed that they made a pact 38 years ago: they would never, ever speak about each other in detail to the press. This was tested when rumors of a “trial separation” hit the tabloids in 2022. Instead of a PR statement, they simply ignored it.

They also refused to let their children, Sean and Ty, enter the industry as “nepo babies” until they were adults and had “earned their own way.” Dawber famously walked away from a booming career in the 80s to be a “cupcake mom,” and Harmon has credited her sacrifice as the only reason he was able to stay sane during the NCIS years.
