Kevin Costner Shares Lifelong Faith: ‘We Choose To Believe’

For Hollywood actor Kevin Costner, faith “has really sustained” him over the years. “The church was central in our lives,” he said in an interview with USA Today, sharing that his family helped build their church, with his grandmother serving as the choir director. Costner continued, “These fantastic stories of faith and of believing, it’s nice to believe in something. I’d hate to live in a world where I don’t believe in anything.”

“We can’t always explain what moves us or what gives us this kind of determination or this faith that we will come out of this dark spot,” he explained. “We can’t. We just choose to believe, and it’s something that has really sustained me.”The YELLOWSTONE actor shared that he has “had tremendous ups” and also “been bruised equally…and so how do I choose to live my life, in anger or in faith that things will reveal themselves in the right way? And so I’ve just chosen to do that.”
