‘Yellowstone’ Is Not Airing on Paramount+, but Here’s Where You Can Watch It Instead

After five massively popular seasons, Taylor Sheridan’s modern Western Yellowstone came to an end in 2024, but it didn’t get there without a few very public bumps in the road. The biggest wildcard the series faced was Kevin Costner’s departure. He exited the hit show amid reports of creative differences with Sheridan, and to focus on his multipart Western epic, Horizon: An American Saga. Even so, with a massive fanbase and a growing lineup of spin-offs, the Yellowstone franchise was always too big and too influential to simply stall out. The Dutton family saga had to keep moving.

Season 5 officially kicked off in early November 2022, and the story ultimately closed out with Season 5 Part 2 just two years ago. That final stretch was already carrying a lot of weight, and it didn’t escape criticism either. Writing John Dutton (Costner) out of the story left a very real void for longtime fans, but that doesn’t mean the Dutton diehards checked out before the finish line.
